Japan Trip - Day 7 - Shibuya and National Children's Castle

That day we went to National Children's Castle or as known as Kodomo Noshiro. It is five storey building with full of kids activities. But unfortunately, I couldnt find where Mr. Husband has save all the pictures. Hope that it is not in one of Mr. Husband's CF card which when missing in Japan :(

Anyway, not many Malaysian people know the existing of this Children castle in Shibuya. I told hubby that I wanted to go to places that Emir will loves to and remember and Hubby found out about this place in of the books that he bought.

Built in commemoration of the International Year of the Child in 1979, the Castle officially opened on November 1, 1985. The purpose of the Castle is to offer a place where children can develop healthy, happy, energetic, sound minds and body. To meet these goals, the Castle endeavors to provide artistic, athletic, healthy, inventive, imaginative and cultural opportunities that challenge and encourage the individual potentials in each child.

This castle is around 20 minutes away from the Shibuya bus station and the admission fee is 500 yen for an adult and 400 yen for a child age 3 and above. It was really fun for Emir and we spent there until it closed to public around 5pm, but actually we managed to stay until 6pm as Emir was very eager playing the musical intruments at the Music Room.

But our hunting for Shinbuya didnt end there, Emir was asleep the minute we were out from the Castle hehehe.. Shibuya is one of the busy street in Japan, really busy as its station is the second largest station in Tokyo after Shinjuku. Our Malaysian Embassy is just 10 minutes walk from the Shibuya bus station.

Usually everyday we would go to Shibuya as it is where the bus from my SIL's house stopped, but we never get a chance to explore Shibuya as usually we were running out of time to catch up the next train.

Shibuya (渋谷区, Shibuya-ku?) is one of the 23 special wards of Tokyo, Japan. As of 2008, it had an estimated population of 208,371 and a density of 13,540 persons per km². The total area is 15.11 km².

The name "Shibuya" is also used to refer to the central business district of Shibuya Ward, which surrounds Shibuya Station, one of Tokyo's busiest railway stations. Shibuya is known as one of the fashion centers of Japan, particularly for young people, and as a major nightlife area.

After the long day, we finally decided to spend some of the yen that we have in Japan. err actually we have made the decision not to spend on food since we brought one whole bag of food from Malaysia, but why not kan..

We ate at Royal Indian Dining, he claimed that the food is Halal but when we went down to the restaurant (it is located at the basement area), they served alcohol in which we just ordered Nan cheese lah.. and the nan cheese cost 500 yen ok.. approximately RM15-RM20..

Can you see how busy is this street!! I think most of the tourists would stop at this street and snap some pictures.. Oh ya, this street appears at CNN for Tokyo wheather news..
