Berjaya Youth: Tioman Island Clean Up Day 2013 - Day 3 - The End

The last day was not just free and easy session. Indeed it was a memorable day to share. It was Snorkeling Day. First of all, it was not my intention to join this program together with the group as Emir was around. Honestly, I was not comfortable as I understand that this is a Youth Program. However, when I came to Dive Centre and asked the person in charge to separate me from the group, they were not really keen to do so because they were no one around to look after us. So, they themselves asked us to join the group else, I couldn't go for snorkeling. 

I would always want to bring Emir to any island for Snorkeling since now he knows how to swim, and I wouldn't know that this prize will come along. It just a dream comes true. I told him about snorkeling but he was not very keen since he said, beach is so wide, deep and he is afraid he will sink. Oh btw, Husband and brother were in the other boat.

Lama betul ok session nak confidentkan dia untuk snorkeling. From wearing the mask, gosh tell ya.. he  is like one chatterbox.. ok like a parrot, repeating the same words over and over again.. keep saying that "ibu loves to force me" "very painful to wear the mask" -- gosh all the negativity coming out from his mouth.. nak gigittt sangat.. and boleh pulak, i left his goggle in hotel's room. Lucky, the person sitting next to Emir, lend us her goggle.

When I went for snorkeling, this Sir beside Emir willing to entertain Emir.. ramai je orang layan Emir. and he was having so much fun fed the fishes.. Tengoklah tersenyum-senyum.. Masa ni I already told Emir, tak nak snorkeling tak ape.. But not sure, what triggered him, finally he agreed to go for a snorkeling..

Ok, kawan-kawan.!!!! yes, he loves it!! but unfortunately, tak sampai 10 minit session habis, and he cried!! because he only able to go for snorkeling in short period of time.. and he blame me not to ask the lifeguard to extend the time.. -- hish.. drama king betul.. i didn't take any pictures of him snorkeling because i was already in the boat and my eyes carefully looking at him...

InsyaAllah one day, I will bring Emir for a snorkeling again!

Our flight was scheduled at 1.50pm and we only got back from snorkeling at 12 pm. and we havent pack anything yet. Yerp, macam lipas kudung kemas barang, nak mandi lagi, nak check out lagi.. all in all, we managed to check out around 12.30pm and sadly we had to skip for our lunch as we were rushing to the airport..

the two heroes.. dah penat dah ni.. memang tak sempat pun even nak beli sotong kering ke apa. nasib baik, the day before, husband sempat jalan-jalan dan adalah beli sikit-sikit.. cukup cukup je nak bagi family..

Even though it was a short vacation for me, but seriously I was having so much fun. Once a while, your body need a break, be it in just one day, and I happy with it.. Esok hari Isnin keje je macam biasa..

All of us.. the winners together with Berjaya Youth person in charge.. Husband and Shahiran have built a good relationship with them.. Memang derang nampak very close together. One of them came all the way from Perak to join us here.

Berjaya Youth: Tioman Island Clean Up Day 2013 - Day 2 - Part 2

After having our delicious lunch, both Husband and brother proceed to join another program while me and Emir having so much fun at the pool. Gosh, tell ya, tak pernah pergi swimming lama macam gitu.. Emir enjoyed sliding down the pool while me myself  having a peaceful and slowwww swimming.. Rasa macam exercise habis.. 

Forget about that.. Mr. Husband and Shahiran attended Turtle Conservation Workshop with children from SK Kg Tekek at the beach - Dive Centre

This workshop is aimed to foster awareness on protecting turtles through interactive and fun filled learning activities. In this workshop, the children got the chance to learn about how turtles are slowly facing extinction and as a human, together we should help to protect the turtles.

For your information, Sekolah Kebangsaan Tekek is the only school in the island. Sneak peak of the activities which was handled by Berjaya Team through out the day..

The best part, my brother has been interviewed by the team to share his experience on this Tioman Clean Up Day 2013. Husband said, Shahiran ni pemalu, orang tanya sepatah dia jawab sepatah haha.. Well, at least, priceless experience kan..

We have been informed earlier that Freaky Night Gala Dinner will be held on Day 2 and they asked us to dress up according to the theme. Being me, never.. i repeat N.E.V.E.R in my entire life, I had actually followed the dinner theme.. kalau setakat cakap "Red hot dinner" cam gitu adalah, setakat pakai baju color merah je.. but when it comes to specific theme, honestly, I never make an effort to dress up..

Tapi tak taulah, this time around,, tak de angin tak de ribut.. rajin pulak.. Probably there was only minimal cost involved (I bought a nice cheap wizard hat and mask).. :p Oh btw, for this Gala Dinner, I joined the program. Husband and Emir stayed in the room. I ordered room dining for them.. Quite reasonable., for delicious spaghetti, it costs only RM25 without tax.. banyak pulak tu..

The last time, I attended "annual dinner" when I was in E**Y which was way back in 2009. So, quite a while. Since Berjaya Group organized this event, wah hadiah-hadiahnya memang meletup lah.. :) and seriously a lot of prizes!! but unfortunately since the contest participants mostly have to dance.. oh tidaklah saya nak join.. tengok je lah..

Picture above, my brother received his certificate of participation.. Masa ni husband's name pun naik.. Shahiran je lah ambik.. The food? Shahiran seriously satisfied with Lamb Shank!! Food was marvelous, lupe ambik gambar, ralik with all the seafood :D

While I was busy enjoying the show, suddenly came to the Best Costume announcement. Obviously I was not aware on the announcement, and not putting much hope. Ok, to be exact, tak heran pun.. Sekali... hehehe, "I will call 3 finalist for best costumes in random order.. First - the Wolverine

---- ok.. sudah.. The witch.. I was looking at my brother, and sempat cakap "taknakkk" when suddenly one of the staff grabbed my hand and walked me to the stage... Nak nangis masa tu haha because i pretty sure i need to do some catwalk..

Thank God, they allowed us to bring another partner and I forced my brother to help me.!! You know malu giler ok!! and of cos, as expected, I kalah hahaha.. The winner received 3D2N trip to Langkawi.. best kan.. But at least, I received this...

Ok, this is my costume... simple je.. baju, tudung hitam and kain tu selalu je pakai pergi office.. :)

Berjaya Youth: Tioman Island Clean Up Day 2013 - Day 2 - Part 1

The second day was the full day for Husband, Shahiran and Emir. The day for the main reason why we were in Tioman. Based on the agenda, the event started at 10.15 am. All media and participants have been divided into few groups and they were assigned to collect the rubbish and waste around the beach. 

As usual, Shahiran control macho though, he keep saying "macam program dekat university pulak" :p

But obviously, at first look, the beach is very clean and to be honest, it was not easy for them to find for any rubbish. Tioman is a home to many rare species for example, green turtle. In fact, when I first arrived here, the first thing I saw was a big lizard, ok, someone told me, it was monitor lizard..

I'm not sure why they were running .. tapi nampak comel pulak.. Hubby captured this moment

Definitely, everyone has done their best. and of cos as a woman, taking selfie picture what we can do at our very best :p.. 

Tioman Island Clean Up Day is an initiative by Berjaya Hotels & Resorts which began few years back. With your friends around, i think this activity is quite interesting to have some fun with your friends while we took this opportunity to show our commitment to our environment.

Adik i macam posing pulak.. He asked everyone to call him Shah.. and I was like "sape Shah" hahaha .. at home we call him Ayen .. ayen nama manja la kan.. 

and he is proud to collect that amount of trash around the beach.. proud because, the least we were able to collect, it indicates the cleaner the beach is.. 

Hubby told me, the lady in the picture below (tengah tunduk tu) was very very committed..

As a boost for all participants to collect more rubbish, the organizer organized some mini contest and the winner would be based on highest collectible trash around the island. Ok, it's easy to guess the winner when one group managed to pull out one big box and it was Husband's group. Gambar tak da sebab dia pun ambik gambar..

and Shahiran's group managed to grab the no 2 title.

Later, after the clean up day, ade pula launching of Berjaya Tioman Resort Padi Dive Centre as well as Berjaya MNS "Roots" Project at Tioman Island. Roots is "Revisiting Our Original Trees". Together, they are now introducing Rakan Napuh, a community initiative under ROOTS.

Berjaya Youth - The Activities - Day 1

Tioman Island Clean Up Day ("TICD") is an annual event organized by Berjaya  Group and this year marked it 5th edition. The main objective of this event is to help conserving the marine life whilst enjoying the diverse wonders of the underwaterworld.

As a note, this event was not merely to celebrate us as Berjaya Youth winners but also together with media and other Berjaya related companies, we were gathered here to create an awareness to preserve our Tioman Island which is always known as beautiful, popular and affordable vacation not only in Malaysia but throughout the world.

-and this is just part of it-

Husband and brother missed the welcome session from Berjaya Tioman Hotel since their flight was delayed for 2 hours.

They only arrived if Im not mistaken around 1 pm and the first activity scheduled at 2 and it's Diving! Actually there was a slight changes on the schedule. Among all activities, husband was excited for a scuba, which was first scheduled on Day 3, so since I was not around, and takda sapa nak tengok Emir, pity husband he had to sacrifice for this.. 

but Shahiran (my brother), had a chance to have a taste of Scuba! But he said since he was not a good swimmer, he didn't dare to actually dive in the water..sikit-sikit saje.. but the experience is priceless!!

Shahiran said the view is seriously spectacular.. :) It was his first time and he enjoyed it to bits! With this activity, the divers alongside with non-divers (like Shahiran)  understand that it is important to educate people on the importance of coral reefs to the ecosystem.

Seriously, I'm not sure, what they did at night, all I know, Mr. Husband keep Whatsapp-ing their pictures eating eating and eating.. (husband said the lamb chop is the best)

p/s sini makan memang terlebih cukup.. sedap pulak tu.. :) mana tak sedap dah namanya hotel punya makanan :D

Berjaya Youth: Tioman Clean Up Day 2013 - Introduction

First of all, for the next few days I will upload my diary on Tioman trip here. Apart as our reference / memory in the future, it is part of T&C after winning Berjaya Youth contest. Let me see how I'm going to summarise all activities.. 

Some of you may be aware that I won myself 2 full paid expenses trip to Tioman but the date was fixed from 25-27 Oct 13 which was a big No No for me. 25th was the budget Day and I had no excuse not to be in the office especially with the GST announcement. 

Lucky me, the ticket could be transferred to another person to represent me. Since I could not make it and I did not want to waste my winning (its not easy to win ok).. again lucky me, both Mr. Husband and younger brother agreed to replace me.

Phew..

Ok, im not done yet.

Emir! Yes, I decided to bring Emir along even though I understand that this is a youth program, and we (both husband and I) had done at our best to keep Emir a distance from any activities :) But of cos some of the programs he was around since we had no choice but to keep an eye on him..

So, Husband, Shahiran and Emir were on the first flight on 25. They arrived at the airport before 8 am but pity them, their flight was delayed until 11.30am. Melanguk lah tunggu kan.. 

Me, yes, I myself went there on the next day (of cos at my own expenses la kan)

Ok, honestly I thought I wanted to watermark all my pictures (i know low quality pun), but after the first picture above err.. malas.. 

So, this is Lapangan Terbang Kg. Tekek, the only airport in Tioman and Berjaya Air is the only airline operated in Tioman. It only took about an hour from Subang Airport to here. Shuttle bus will drive you direct from the airport to Berjaya Tioman. As a note, as a tourist, no matter whether you are a local or foreigner, you will be charged at RM5 per person at the airport.

There you go, this is the hotel. Fine, more like a resort, and the best part, it is just a few steps away from the beach, and lucky us, our room is facing the beach.. But... with all packed activities, none of us had a chance to actually take a nice photo by the beach.. :(

I thought I could snap a nice second honeymoon photo here, but this is the best photo of us.. Geram!! Emir kacau.. see-lah my face :) Husband and Shahiran were so busy with the activities, i tak nak lah kacau.. :) I felt lucky because they didn't mind to join all activities.

For the activities, I will post in a different entry ya. Gambar banyakkk sangat.. 

Oh yes, this is the spacious room, quite spacious even for the four of us. By the way, the first night only 3 of them saje.. I only joined them on their second night. so not so bad..

The much talk-about pool. and if you read the reviews, most of the reviewers compliment about this large size pool. Emir was very very excited to see this pool. Emir, as long as the pool has slide, he will say "this is the best pool i've ever seen" :p semuanya the bestlah..

While husband and Shahiran joined the activities, Emir and I went for  swimming :D.. best, mau 2 jam lebih kot merendam kat sini
