My son has been with this kindergarten for almost 5 years, through out those years, alhamdulillah Emir is developing very well, inside and out, i mean intrapersonal skills or interpersonal skills.. teachers, yes, i am really satisfied with the teachers, caring and loving. As you may know this school also provides nursery services. And i have no complaint on them.. However, in terms of Islamic study, even though the school has their own ustazah, but honestly, it was not at what I am expecting..
Please, i know some of you may say, I shall teach my son, I agree, but even though you are a teacher, teaching your own child is much more challenging than teaching your students. So, i think this is the part where I may want someone to assist me along the way. Get it??
And i started looking for suitable school for Emir, my spec, the school must be located in Bangsar or Damansara, or whatever around there, Islamic school, English is the medium communication, sayang Emir dah petah cakap, i takut kalau cakap Malay, budak2 senang je hilang ape yang dia dah belajar sebelum ni.
But I couldn't really find a kindergarten that follows my own spec.. seriously tak jumpe.. now I started to worry, am I too fussy?
and the best part, few of Emir's teachers called me, telling me all of the good things about Emir.. they really show their care for Emir, I am on the other hand, not too sure whether it comes sincerely or as a marketing strategy.
and now I am having a second thought..
so what do you think?

sabarkan itu lebih baik?!
ReplyDeletebenih yg elok dibaja ditumbuh galak dah jadi buah yg ranum subur..
jgn kerana nak mencapai yg satu itu..yang kita usahakan tadi jdi sia2..
yakin dan tawakkal jugak perlu ade..
biar pun kita rasa kita ni tak sebaik gurunya..
ReplyDeleteFrom my conversations with parents whose children attend Islamic schools:
1*-International Islamic School (Gombak): a few parents I know have removed their children from IIS due to the lack of discipline - another issue was the teachers' poor level of English. All students are international.
2*-Adni Islamic SchoolThe preschool building has just moved to a new premise in Taman Melawati which is superb compared to the previous cramped-dark no green-yard main building (elementary & secondary). Its huge one-floor building ,so no worry my active boy would fall from stairs ( even International Islamic University Montessory/IIUM Kindergarten is so tiny compared to this new Adni).
*3-Integrated Islamic School Kota Damansara: Good teaching but few international students and Malay students mostly speak Bahasa so difficult for older children to integrate. Current school in a shoplot - land has been bought for a new school but construction hasn't started (post edited Oct 2011: purpose-built premises now open)
4*-Integrated Islamic School Shah Alam: Good teaching with a couple of teachers from the UK and the school heads Cambridge-educated. School buildings are very basic though. More international students than the Kota Damansara school and the Malay students speak more English.
5*-Itqan Islamic School (Damansara Jaya): mainly Malay students but teachers and students communicate in English, small school but brighter and neater environment than other Islamic schools. Preschool and primary only.
just follow your heart...( I pun takde idea, :) )
ReplyDeletei pun tak reti nak bagi idea babe...i ajar sendiri my zharfan iqra' kat umah sbb tak jumpa guru quran...
ReplyDeleteMira,
ReplyDeletesekadar pendapat saya je ni.maklumlah belum ada pengalaman kan anto anak ke sekolah.tapi pernah bincang dgn hubby.
saya pun agak choosy gaks nanti kot.kalu leh nak cari yang macam kriteria mira sebutkan.islamic school and english.tapi, tau lakan, kriteria yang lengkap gitu susah nak cari.but still lucky tau, kita duk KL/klang valley ni.
Saya tatau sgt pasal kindy ni.tapi, tertarik dgn genius aulad,Little Caliph...sebab main educationnye lebih kepada agama though not fully in english,i guess.
saya walaupun duk rumah, saya tetap nakkan anak2 blaja agama di sekolah.kita kat rumah leh ajar mengaji, dan sesikit termampu.tapi kat sekolah beragama, ilmu lebih kepada penerapan teori tuk difahami dan dipraktikkan. yang basic2 tuk bebudak2 ni mula hidup.hehe.ye lakan, kita jadi mak ayah ni pun bukan dari golongan hebat agama.so-so je..hehe
Berbanding english, they can learn a lot dari buku2 yang dibaca, newspaper,tv shows, daily communication with us and whatknot.communication skill, vocab bagai tu tak kan hilang.
Saya juga ada niat, kalu da masuk sekolah rendah, petang pun nakkan anak ke sekolah agama daripada anto ke tuisyen. They dun have to be excellent in exam kat sekolah agama pun..but what i really hope, apa yang dorang blaja dari ustaz dan ustazah tu melekat kat hati.
the can read quran in proper way with tajwid bagai, they perform solat in better way,and so on...
like puasa la kan..semua kanak2 tau bulan ramadan kena puasa 30hari nak sambut raya, tapi tak semua faham kenapa kena puasa.puasa merangkumi perbuatan baik kita juga like jaga hati, jaga solat, jaga mata dan segala bagai tu..barulah penghayatan puasa akan dibawa sampai dewasa.kita ibubapa dan guru kalu both main peranan, lagi hasilnya hebat.
so,kalu saya kan mira..
korbankan sikit je english tu pun takpe..asalkan,pembelajaran agama nye penuh.
tapi kalu mira jumpa sekolah yang ada both criteria mira nak..itu lagi bagus =)
Ni apa yang pernah saya dan hubby bincangkan. =)
